Case History – LIU v SG

Background

SG is a solicitor who used to practice in a very busy property conveyancing firm and had conduct of a large number of files at any given time. A number of claims were made against the firm which were subsequently settled by the firm’s professional indemnity Insurance.

The insurance underwriters have made allegations against SG that he deliberately withheld information pertaining to claims, or intended claims when signing the proposal form for the firm’s professional indemnity insurance.

SG was referred to ICL Commercial Law by counsel who had been instructed by SG under the public access arrangements on another matter.
